Terms of Use

Version 1.0 — Effective June 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Thermal Relief Designer (“the Application”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Application. The Application is provided by KHouse Holdings LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

2. Engineering Disclaimer

The results produced by this Application are preliminary engineering estimates only. They are not engineering certifications, sealed calculations, or professional engineering opinions. Relief-device set pressures, orifice sizes, valve-type recommendations, and design-pressure limits are computed from simplified models, standard correlations, and user-supplied inputs.

This Application is not a substitute for a Professional-Engineer-stamped, code-compliant overpressure protection study. Thermal relief and overpressure protection are safety-critical functions. All set pressures, valve and check-valve selections, pipe/flange ratings, and cascade arrangements produced by or based on this Application must be independently reviewed, verified, and approved by a qualified professional engineer licensed in the applicable jurisdiction, and reconciled with the governing codes, the equipment manufacturers’ data, and the facility’s own engineering and process-safety procedures (including OSHA PSM / 29 CFR 1910.119 where applicable).

3. Reference Data & Methodology

The Application incorporates data and methods from publicly available engineering references, including:

  • Relief sizing: API Standard 520 (Parts I & II), API Standard 521, and API Standard 526 for thermal-expansion relief rates, liquid orifice sizing, and standard orifice areas.
  • Pipe & flange data: ASME B36.10M pipe dimensions, ASME B16.5 flange pressure–temperature ratings, and ASME B31.3 pressure-design allowable stresses.
  • Fluid properties: Representative thermophysical properties (specific gravity, specific heat, cubical thermal-expansion coefficient, viscosity) from published engineering literature and reference handbooks. These are typical values that vary with composition and temperature and must be confirmed for the actual service.

Tabulated standard values are a verified subset and may not reflect the latest code edition. You are responsible for confirming all data against the current governing standards.

4. No Warranty

The Application is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the calculations meet any particular code, standard, or jurisdiction’s requirements.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, KHouse Holdings LLC shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from or related to the use of, or inability to use, the Application or its results — including any property damage, injury, business interruption, or loss of data — even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

6. Permitted Use & Accounts

Access requires an approved account. You agree to provide accurate registration information, to keep your credentials secure, and to use the Application only for lawful engineering-support purposes. We may suspend or revoke access at our discretion.

7. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and a competent professional user to use the Application.

8. Beta Program

The Application may be offered as a beta release. Features may change, results may contain errors, and availability is not guaranteed. Feedback you submit may be used to improve the Application.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
